Ask and you shall receive it seems. The commenters have arrived with some great comments. And (possibly this is connected), yesterday was my first 200+ day since my 7 month hiatus. I even got some referrals from planet perl due to Gabor mentioning my post on his [aggregated blog].
Foo pointed out that I haven’t got my tone quite right for irony. Any suggestions how to do that better without being too obvious?
And in another comment, Gabor has given me an idea for my next post – which Emacs features I’d need to switch to Padre.
Overall, I’m very pleased.
They will also go away quickly but you can try to make a point to yourself to comment or every blog you see in the IronMan feed or at least on every blog which is in English.
More or less.
Aw, don’t say that Gabor 😉 Hopefully this success will sustain me to my next insightful post.
And I am keeping an eye out for posts where I can make a worthwhile comment.
BTW There is another side of the coin. There are times when I am more active both in blogging and in commenting on blogs but after a while I always feel that it might be a bit too much of me. How much do people really care about my opinion?
Then I try to reduce my activity so people won’t feel as if I was constantly making noise.
You could presumably tell about how much people care about your opinion by if the number of visitors dropped off. Some guys blog every day and they still seem to get a lot of visitors. (In contrast, some other guys blog everyday and no-one comes :)). Or am I missing some subtle subtext?
